Considering the neglect of PWDs in the society and health campaigns, mainstreaming disability  in the fight against Covid 19 was the main objective of  Community Impact for Africa-CIfA's 9th outreach event at the Bamenda main market.

"This is in a bit to promote disability inclusion,  sensitize the public on the realities of the Corona Virus as well as educate administrative authorities,  councils and owners of public premises to be intentional in promoting disability friendly environments in all developmental actions especially in the fight against the deadly coronavirus." CIfA notes in the project concept note.

After a successful outreach at the Bamenda main market, the CEO of Community Impact for Africa Ngwanwi  Lidwina Munting said "CIfA is bent on creating safe spaces for all by ensuring that Persons with Disabilities equally make use of Covid 19 preventive measures put in place by the WHO especially the hand washing measure which happens to be one of the major ways of preventing the spread of the virus."

Fonda Violet speaking on behalf of PWDs said the Government has taken a lot of measures to fight COVID-19 but in it, they don't find Inclusion. "We are very grateful to CIfA for answering our prayers. As you can most of the measures put in place do not include us." She said.

CIfA used the event to present the Australian Aid, CBM and CBCHS  Covid-19 preventive measures to sensitize those with visual impairments.

Reacting to the donation, the Market master to the Bamenda Main Market Mr Nji Sylvester  expressed satisfaction what CIfA had done and called on people to support her to do even more given that there are many more hand washing points in the market and other markets that does not careter for the needs of PWDs.
