African Dream and Value Health Africa Donate to Bamenda blood bank


A group of volunteers from a Bamenda based Not For Profit Nongovernmental Organisations NGO have donated blood to the blood bank of the Bamenda regional hospital.

The African Dream Network and Value Health Africa made the donation of pines of blood for kidney patients on dialysis at the hemodialysis center of the Bamenda Regional hospital on Monday 12th.

The donation according to the donors was the first edition of their annual blood donation campaign to donate blood for kidney patients who undergo dialysis in the North West Region.
 This initiative comes at a time when due to excessive blood demand caused by either accidents or other instances like confrontations within the Anglophone crisis is on the rise causing blood shortage in most hospital facilities thus making life difficult causing many deaths as patient in dire need are unable to get it on time or even find a donor. 

Speaking at the occasion, the CEO and founder of The African Dream network Awa Micah Cho, underscored the importance of blood donation as “an imperative aspect in serving society and saving life given that life is in the blood.”

 “Blood donation is such a great sacrifice for humanity that leaves one with the feeling of saving a life after donating. When you give your blood to someone, you are offering your life for that person to live since life is found in the blood.” He added

This exercise comes on the heels of world kidney day observed last 8th of March across the globe. Speaking on behalf of Value Health Africa, the secretary General Che Francis said “it is time everyone understands the importance of donating blood to save lives given that no one is exonerated from I'll health. Thia event is also serving as an eye opener for the public to donate blood whenever there's an emergency to save a life.”

 Dr Kingue Thompson Ngie Director of the Bamenda Regional Hospital saluted the first edition of blood donation for kidney as heroic and used the occasion to call on others to emulate.
The collaboration of both NGOs to donate blood for kidney patients and raise awareness on kidney and kidney related issues is a clash of excellence for humanity when so many years of experience from the media landscapes and health meet.

The African Dream network was led for the blood donation exercise by the its founder, journalist and social entrepreneur Awa Micah Cho mean while the Value health Africa steam was led by founded by  kyeng mercy who is a reputable medical personnel.
