Event theme: ‘Valuing Women’s Work Is Key to Achieving the New Global Goal on Gender Equality’

The Eyes of the fashion world turns to the capital of the North West this December 15-20, 2015, when the Bamenda traditional attire Fashion Week opens. Established traditional designers and young hopefuls will rub shoulders with buyers, celebrities and reporters’ cameras as new collections in the traditional regalia or 'contri clothes' industry are unleashed to the snap of photographers’ flashes. Running from December 15-20, the event will feature more than 50 catwalk shows, displaying the latest cuts from within the industry. More refined traditional looks shall be found at the Bamenda Fashion Week event where over 100 designers are lined up for the exhibition of the industry's latest movers and shakers.

The Bamenda Fashion Week which is created by Gwain Colbert Fulai, journalist and cultural promoter, is a unique event in the catwalk circuit with its mix of latest designs in the traditional regalia scene. We invite dress makers to take the opportunity and showcase their creativity and ingenuity in the domain.

Holding at Bamenda Congress Hall, the Bamenda Fashion Week showcases North West traditional regalia in all its shapes, sizes and styles. It celebrates the creativity and ingenuity of Cameroon women in the sector who struggle each day to empower themselves economically. The Bamenda Fashion Week is alsoa celebration and an acknowledgement by men of women’s leadership in the domain of modern designs for this most respectable Cameroonian attire.

You are invited to be part of the event which shall gather over 5000 visitors in one week either by becoming a volunteer or a sponsor.

The Bamenda Fashion Week which shall be covered by over 30 media organs shall also benefit from live coverage from Africa Magic and Dignity Television and shall be a venue par excellence to promote the rights of women in the fashion apparel industry in Cameroon.
