It was a near empty Bamenda municipal stadium this Wednesday 29th July, 2015 that hosted a day-27 fixture of the professional league one pitting Yong Sports Academy, YOSA and Botafogo FC of Douala. While some people say the low turnout was due to heavy rains in Bamenda this day, many are of the opinion that it is the absence of victories by the home team that discouraged spectators from showing up. However noting that the city also witnessed heavy rains during the last two games against Cotonsport and Bamboutos FC yet thousands answered present, one may be tempted to buy the later opinion.

It is the first time in YOSA’s four years history as a First Division team to score four goals in a single football match. The Bamenda based team began the goal scoring bonanza against Botafogo FC as early as the 2nd minute into the game. It also happened that the goal scorer Ayamba Cyprian was scoring his first goal since his arrival in the club during the June transfer window.

Team captain and striker Kongnyuy Jude then got the second and third goals all with the head before Ayamba came with the fourth that will put scores at 4-0 at the end of the first half.

The second half played goalless till the 90th minute when Botafogo pulled one goal back making the score 4-1 at the end of the match.

Players like Ngong Lionel left back, Akosemoh Theodore right back and Ojong Ekuri midfielder for YOSA all told hilltopvoices that there was a general decision amongst the players to get a victory against top ranked Botafogo FC. Though they said no special dispositions were taken, they were visible signs that the players needed a win if not for the joy of it but for the bonus.
