Talking to one of the Vice Captains Akosemoh Theodore, he told hilltopvoices that he got to Bamenda on Sunday in other to rest and be ready for training insinuating a sign of leading by example. Unlike like Team Captain Kongnyuy Jude who said he was sick during the break and did not have time for leisure, Akosemoh said he spent some time with his family in Limbe savoring some lager and Fish from the sea side city. Head Coach Kamgue who also returned to Bamenda on Sunday acknowledged spending time with his family. Other players we spoke to are of the opinion that the break was too short compared to the demands of the Second round.

By 10am Monday June 1, fans and supporters of the Team were at the stadium to watch the team as they resumed training. Kamgue Justin and his assistant Tugem Jean-Baptiste answered present and immediately went to work. It was a similar scenario on Tuesday June 2, 2015 when we visited the team in training in the Bamenda municipal stadium. When we got to the stadium we saw two groups with one jogging round the football pitch while another group was busy working on ball control and space management. Yong Jack, Team President, Afumbom and others like the president of the supporters club were present to watch particularly the new players (some of them foreign) who have been invited to reinforce the team.

The Challenge Ahead

YOSA Bamenda

After finishing third on the unofficial classification table, YOSA according to Coach Kamgue Justin is nursing ambitions to go as far as their ability can carry them. This means that the team is hoping to qualify for either the CAF Champion League or CAF Confederation Cup. This will require that they finish within the best three teams in the league or that they win the Cup of Cameroon. During the second round, the probability is high that the team may be playing two matches a week hence such ambitions must be backed by the right quality of players. Talking to hilltopvoices Kamgue Justin confirmed he is working with the team’s management to get new players. 17 league matches and a possibility of playing to the nearest 10 Cup matches he added is no small challenge.
