Immediate Past Mayor of Tubah dies


The immediate past Mayor of the Tubah Council has died. Sofa Meji Stanislaus who served as Mayor of the Tubah Council in Mezam Division from 2007 to 2013 died at the Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Shisong after battling with ill-health for some time.

According to family sources he died after close to two weeks in a comma as the hospital staff waited to perform an operation.

The retired Treasurer who served in several parts of Cameroon is said to have started the battle for good health after he left the Bamenda central prison where he spent almost a year but was not found guilty of any wrong doing during his term of office as Mayor of Tubah.

The graduate of the Advanced School of Administration and Magistracy EMAM we gathered was a dedicated Roman Catholic faithful and a promoter of culture particularly in his village Bambui and Tubah Subdivision in general. 

At his Bambui residence, it is a moody with everyone looking sad. His Wife who tries to be courageous but from time to time burst into tears as many of her friends and other village women show up for condolences. 

The wife says funeral arrangements are ongoing with the likelihood for the late former municipal head to be laid to rest in October.
