HOBEFI Empowers Cameroon's Next Generation Renewable Energy Entrepreneurs

A transformative Youth Capacity Building workshop on entrepreneurship in Renewable Energy and key sectors like Agriculture, Fashion and Design, and IT has ended in Bamenda, North West region in a bid to support Cameroon's three-year import substitution plan.    The initiative, spearheaded by Hope for A Better Future Vocational Training Center, HOBEFI, in collaboration with the Cameroon National Youth Council (CNYC) and other partners of the ongoing project CameroonRenewED, aimed to equip over 300 young individuals with essential skills to kickstart their entrepreneurial journey. Community Association for Vulnerable Persons (CAVP) Completes SHE-WINS Project

In a bid to empower and uplift women living with disabilities in the midst of the ongoing sociopolitical crisis in North West and South West Regions of Cameroon, the Community Association for Vulnerable Persons (CAVP) has completed a groundbreaking project titled "Women Inclusion in New Security (SHE-WINS)."  With support from the US State Government, in partnership with Search for Common Ground and coordinated by Hope Advocate Africa Organization in Buea, this project aimed at strengthening the capacity of women living with disabilities in Santa, Bamenda I, II & III subdivisions, Mezam Division, North West Region on Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) processes, aligning with UNSCR Resolution 1325 pillars on participation and protection. The project, which took place between January 11th and January 20, 2024, brought together a total of 192 participants, with 180 of them being women and 99 living with disabilities. Local Development: Bamenda III Council Announce Roads, Houses, Water, other Projects in 2024 with 700M Budget

By Bakah Derick  Councilors of the Bamenda III Council have adopted their 2024 budget at slightly over 717million FCFA. WMHD 2023: CAGEAD commemorate in rural Boyo

The Center for Advocacy in Gender Equality and Action for Development (CAGEAD) has commemorated World Menstrual Hygiene Day in rural communities in Boyo Division NW Region. The Bamenda based not-for-profit organization commemorated the day on Saturday 27 May 2023 in three subdivisions of Boyo.  Clotilda Andiensa addressing girls  Led by the Executive Director Clotilda Andiensa, CAGEAD made stops in Figie-Belo subdivision, Tinifoinbi- Njinikom subdivision and Fujua in Fundong Subdivision where they distributed sanitary kits to over 300 girls living in the rural communities. Bamenda III Water Scheme: German experts on optimisation mission received with special snacks, music, dance.

By Bakah Derick  The Bamenda III municipality has treated their water experts from Germany to another hilarious welcome. The experts, Karli Heinisch and Gerd Muller arrived the council area on Tuesday January 10, 2023 and were received by an enthusiastic crowd with dance and music at the Ntaghem quarter hosting the Mayor.  The special delicacy served the German visitors  The Bayelle Mbaglum led by men in beautifully made toghu and masquerades gave the municipal guests a special welcome.  "Bamenda III Council has a partnership with Trier City in Germany and in the partnership, Trier city had accepted to donate a water purification plant to Bamenda III. This was effectively done in 2015 and the population of Bamenda III is already enjoying good water though not every part but every year we make an effort to extend supply to other parts so more people can benefit from the water." Mayor Fongu Cletus Tanwe told www.hilltopvoices.com during the reception. 

Local Development: Bamenda III Council to complete tarring of feeder road to new road from upstation

By Bakah Derick  The Mayor of the Bamenda III Council has announced plans to complete  the tarring of the mile four-New road stretch passing through the Council premises. Fongu Cletus Tanwe made the announcement on Wednesday 4 May 2022 during the administrative and management accounts session of his Council. Road to be completed from the Council premises  Accoridng to the municipal leader, the tarring of the road from Mile four to the Council premises shall decongest the main roads in the municipality and be of better service to his people if it is linked with the new-road from upstation. The Mayor disclosed that all is set for the works to begin including the construction of  culverts to ensure an appropriate drainage system along the road.  The announcement which came almost at the end of the session received an uncommon reception with the councilors who hitherto had been tough in the examination of the mayor's administrative and management accounts for 2021.
