CBCHS/EDID program charge Cameroon Journalists to mainstream disability inclusion in reporting

By Wawa Jackson Nfor Lamu Over 25 Journalists drawn from at least four regions of Cameroon have been drilled and tasked to factor the interest of disabled persons in their reporting. This was during a capacity building serminar organized Friday January 5, 2024 at the Baptist Resource Center in Yaounde by the Empowerment and Disability Inclusive Developmen (EDID) program of the Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services (CBCHS) in partnership with Lilian Foundation. World Braille Day: National Rights Commission urges government to equip schools, train teachers, ensure access to information for visually impaired.

By Bakah Derick  The Cameroon Human Rights Commission (CHRC) has recommended the provision of "teaching materials (Braille tablets, punches, Braille paper, etc.) to support the visually impaired." The Recommendation is contained in a statement issued by the national rights commission to mark the 2023 edition of World Braille Day.  World Braille Day   The Commission recommends that the Ministries of Basic Education, Secondary Education and Higher Education should equip schools and universities with Braille transcription equipment and train teachers to master Braille.The Commission strongly recommends that the Ministry of Decentralization and Local Development, and all the local authorities, should ensure that disability is taken into account at the local level by providing access to information at the level of the Regions and Municipalities." Voter Registration: Accessibility, ID card, Information, Conflict challenges forestalls PWDs participation in North West

By Bakah Derick  19 persons with disabilities have reportedly registered as new voters in the North West Region.
