By Hilltopvoices Kenneth Toah Nsah (popularly known as Nsah Mala), who hails from Mbesa Fondom in Boyo Division, has successfully defended a PhD thesis on literature and environmental-climate concerns in the Congo Basin. The defence took place at Aarhus University in Denmark under a high level jury, and the dissertation was titled "Can Literature Save the Congo Basin? Postcolonial Ecocriticism and Environmental Literary Activism." The dissertation was supervised by Professor Mads Rosendahl Thomsen, Comparative Literature Department, together with Associate Professor Peter Mortensen, English Department. Its assessment committee (jury) consisted of Distinguished University Professor Scott Slovic, English Department, University of Idaho (USA), Associate Professor Étienne-Marie Lassi, French Department, University of Manitoba (Canada), and Associate Professor Marianne Ping Huang, Comparative Literature Department, Aarhus University, Committee Chair.
