The Mbororo community of Donga Mantung Division has extended a hand of solidarity to victims of the recent armed bandit attack in Mbot, using a hospital visit to condemn violence and reinforce calls for unity against insecurity.
The visit comes at the time there are growing concerns over recurring incidents of insecurity in parts of Donga Mantung Division, where attacks by armed criminals continue to threaten lives, livelihoods and social cohesion.
Speaking during the visit, members of the delegation expressed sympathy with the victims and their families, assuring them that they were not alone in their suffering.
"We stand with the affected families in this difficult time. Our hearts are with the victims, and we pray for their speedy and complete recovery," the delegation stated.

Beyond the gesture of compassion, the representatives used the occasion to send a strong message against the tendency to stigmatise entire communities for the actions of a few individuals.
"In every community, there are good people and bad people. We are representatives of the good people. We will join hands to fight criminality and insecurity irrespective of the identity of the perpetrators," they emphasised.
As a practical demonstration of support, the Mbororo community presented financial assistance to help victims purchase medication and meet urgent medical expenses linked to their treatment.
The delegation equally condemned the attack in the strongest terms, describing the violence as unacceptable and contrary to the values that have historically bound communities in Donga Mantung together.
"Such violence has no place in our land. It goes against the values of peace, respect and coexistence that bind us together," the representatives said.

Recognising that lasting security cannot be achieved by isolated efforts, the community called for stronger collaboration among all ethnic and social groups across the division.
According to the delegation, peace and security can only be guaranteed when communities unite against criminal elements seeking to sow fear, mistrust and division.
The solidarity visit is no doubt a confidence-building gesture at a time when tensions and suspicions could easily undermine inter-community relations. By openly supporting the victims and distancing itself from criminal acts, the Mbororo community has sought to reinforce the principle that criminality should be fought collectively rather than through ethnic profiling.
The community concluded by reaffirming its commitment to peaceful coexistence, mutual support and stronger partnerships with all communities across Donga Mantung Division and beyond, stressing that unity remains the most effective response to those who seek to destabilise society through violence.
