The presidential campaign trail of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) made a strong showing in Nkambe, Donga-Mantung Division, where Mayor Musa Shey Nfor of the Nkambe Council reaffirmed his loyalty to President Paul Biya, describing him as “a leader who promises and fulfils.”

Presiding over the campaign launch for Nkambe Central Subdivision, the Mayor who doubles as deputy campaign manager for the area urged militants and sympathisers to reaffirm their faith in President Biya at the polls on 12 October 2025, insisting that only the CPDM candidate has the capacity to consolidate peace and sustain development in the North West Region.

“Only President Paul Biya, candidate of the CPDM, can guarantee lasting peace in Nkambe and Donga-Mantung Division, without which development is not possible. The person you choose as the next President of Cameroon must be a father to all includung to political parties, traditional rulers, and to both the young and old. That person is none other than Paul Biya.” Mayor Musa Shey Nfor told supporters at the rally ground.

He went on to describe President Biya as a statesman who matches words with action, citing the tarring of the Ring Road through Nkambe and the creation of the Regional Hospital Annex as clear examples of the Head of State’s commitment to improving lives in the Division.

However, the Mayor acknowledged that the people of Donga-Mantung still looked forward to more from the Head of State notably the creation of a new administrative region, reinstallation of solar street lights after road construction, and the building of more schools.

“Paul Biya is like a fruiting tree. If you are blessed with such a tree, it would be useless abandoning it for a barren one. This is why Nkambe Central must give him another mandate to complete what he has begun.” he said

The campaign event, marked by songs, traditional dances and strong grassroots mobilisation, set the tone for what local organisers described as “a campaign of gratitude and continuity.”

As the campaign intensifies nationwide, the Nkambe gathering reaffirmed the CPDM’s deep-rooted influence in the area and portrayed Mayor Musa Shey Nfor as one of the North West’s most steadfast disciples of President Paul Biya.
