Campaign Pulse 2025: SDF's Joshua Osih runs grassroots marathon from Kumba to Souza, Bonalea, Mbanga, Nkongsamba

The Social Democratic Front (SDF) presidential candidate, Hon. Joshua Osih, has intensified his campaign pace with a series of rallies stretching from the South West to the Littoral, promising Cameroonians “genuine change” at the ballot box.

On Sunday 28 September, Hon. Joshua Osih addressed a packed crowd at the Presbyterian School Field in Fiango, Kumba, where he pledged a nationwide development agenda if elected. Casting himself as the answer to Cameroon’s long-standing political and socio-economic challenges, he called on the population to turn out massively on 12 October.

“We are the solution to the problems facing Cameroon,” Osih declared, urging voters to embrace the SDF as the only credible alternative.

Barely 24 hours later, the SDF leader took his campaign trail to Moungo Division in the Littoral Region, where he staged successive rallies across Souza, Bonalea, Mbanga and Nkongsamba. At each stop, he met activists, sympathisers and undecided voters, delivering a message of optimism and renewal. Witnesses said his team moved with a rhythm more akin to a marathon, in a bid to reach as many communities as possible in the dwindling days before the election.

Chief Joshua Osih, who is also the party’s national chairman, was scheduled to close the day in Bafang, West Region, consolidating his outreach beyond SDF’s traditional bastions. The rallies highlight a grassroots strategy aimed at energising voters and countering the dominance of the ruling CPDM’s campaign machinery in mainstream media.

With less than two weeks to polling day, Hon Osih’s whirlwind tours suggest that the SDF is betting on visibility, personal contact and symbolism to rally support across multiple regions.
