The Section President of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) for Belo in Boyo Division, Waindim Timothy Ntam, has applauded Philemon Yang’s message at the regional campaign launch in Bamenda, saying it has reinforced the party’s determination to deliver victory for President Paul Biya in the upcoming presidential election.

Reacting after Saturday’s campaign launch in Bamenda, Waindim Timothy said he was “deeply satisfied” with Yang’s defence of President Biya’s record and experience. He dismissed opposition criticisms centred on the President’s age as misplaced.

“Our regional campaign leader made it very clear. Age is not the issue. Leadership is about qualities, competences and abilities. President Paul Biya has steered this nation through crises with wisdom and vision. No one else in this race has that kind of experience,” Waindim Timothy remarked.

He went further to argue that Cameroonians needed stability and tested leadership, especially in regions affected by conflict.

“Those who claim they can govern should show what they have already managed. Running a complex nation of 30 million people is not an experiment. We cannot gamble with Cameroon’s future,” he added.

Turning to the mood in Belo, Waindim Timothy who is current General Manager of North West  Cooperative Association NWCA Ltd, insisted that militants were mobilised and ready.

“Belo is fully behind the CPDM. Our mothers, our youths, our traditional leaders, all are prepared to stand with the President. We are organised on the ground, and I can assure you that Boyo Division will give President Biya a solid victory,” he said.

He also welcomed Yang’s call for youth empowerment, stressing that President Biya has laid the foundation for young people to take on greater responsibilities in the future.

“The President has created room for the younger generation to be trained, informed and prepared. We have to be building on his legacy,” Waindim stated.

As campaigns move into Boyo’s council areas, Waindim Timothy called on militants to intensify door-to-door mobilisation.

“The task ahead is clear and simple. We must translate our enthusiasm into votes. October 12 will be our opportunity to confirm Belo’s loyalty to the CPDM and to ensure continuity in peace, unity and development,” he concluded.
