Hon Cabral Libii’s PCRN strengthens roots in Bamenda with new executive installation, Headquarters launch

The Cameroon Party for National Reconciliation (PCRN), led by Presidential candidate Hon. Cabral Libii, officially inaugurated its North West Regional Headquarters in Bamenda’s Old Town neighbourhood this Tuesday, in a colourful ceremony marked by speeches, the installation of the regional executive, and renewed calls for political change.

The new headquarters will serve as a coordination hub for party militants in the region, with plans already underway to expand PCRN’s presence across all seven Divisions and 34 Subdivisions of the North West, according to Regional Coordinator Barrister Tamfu Richard.

Speaking on behalf of Hon Cabral Libii, who was unable to attend the event due to last-minute scheduling constraints, Armand Okol, member of the PCRN National Political Bureau, reassured supporters of the party leader’s continued commitment to the region.

“President Libii had every intention of being with you in Bamenda but an involuntary setback disrupted his trip. He asked me to convey his apologies and his determination to ensure that the North West remains central to our project of national reconciliation.” Armand Okol said,

He used the platform to recall Hon Cabral Libii’s repeated visits to the Anglophone regions since 2017, including moments of personal danger at the height of the crisis.

“It is with this lived experience that he continues to demand an end to this damn crisis, not with rhetoric, but with passion and concrete proposals.” Okol continued

Central to those proposals is the party’s flagship policy of Community Federalism, which, Okol argued, offers a credible solution to the Anglophone crisis and the broader problem of centralised governance in Cameroon.

“If tomorrow, decision-making power over Bamenda’s projects is entrusted to the people who live and work here, without waiting for bureaucrats in Yaoundé, there will be a gradual easing of tensions and a return to lasting peace,” he declared.

Regional team ahead of installation

The installation of the new regional executive was presided over by Blaise Kwajika, who read the appointment decision before officially commissioning the bureau. Barrister Tamfu, praised as “very dynamic” by the party hierarchy, was confirmed as Regional Coordinator, with Armand Okol hailing his “boundless energy and commitment” since joining the party last year.

The PCRN, which has five Members of Parliament in the National Assembly and several Councils under its control, used the occasion to position itself as a serious contender in the upcoming 12 October 2025 Presidential Election.

“We are not entering this race to make up the numbers, We are going to win it. The slogan chosen by President Libii is clear: Succeed Together. This is not an empty slogan but a call for unity, accountability, and effective governance.” Okol insisted.

The Bamenda headquarters, described as “one of the most beautiful of the PCRN after Yaoundé,” is expected to become a nerve centre for political mobilisation in the North West, a region long seen as a critical battleground in Cameroon’s national politics.
