Cabral Libii urges Cameroonians to embrace change without fear following candidacy approval

In the wake of the official confirmation of his candidacy for the 12 October 2025 presidential election, Cabral Libii, leader of the PCRN (Cameroon Party for National Reconciliation), has issued a passionate call for national unity, calm, and courage as the country approaches what he described as a historic political turning point.

In a statement titled "N’ayons pas peur" ("Let us not be afraid"), Cabral Libii acknowledged the anxieties surrounding the end of a political era that has spanned over four decades, but urged Cameroonians to look beyond fear and embrace the promise of democratic renewal.

“I know that turning the page on a system that has lasted 43 indeed 68 years is bound to stir concern, even fear, but let us not be afraid.” be said

Cabral Libii, who ran in the 2018 presidential election and has since positioned himself as a leading voice for generational change, emphasised that his movement’s “project of rupture” is not targeted at individuals or institutions, but aims to foster inclusion, shared prosperity, and a dignified life for all citizens.

“Our social project does not seek to replace some with others. It will require the contributions of all who want to see a strong and proud Cameroon, where no child goes hungry, and no parent fears for their child’s survival.” he affirmed.

Reassuring public servants and state officials, Cabral Libii made it clear that his proposed reforms are not meant to disrupt careers or threaten the civil service, but to enhance professionalism, recognise merit, and strengthen institutional integrity.

“To all public agents and civil servants he described as pillars of the republic the change we bring should not alarm you. Your rights and careers will be protected. We seek to create an environment where your expertise is valued, your merit rewarded, and your voice respected.” he said

Addressing the broader population, Libii pledged to unite the nation's “living forces” to generate wealth, revive hope in struggling families, and end the cycle of precarity that leaves youth with little choice but to turn to survivalist measures.

He called for a collective effort to “turn the page and change course,” declaring that the time had come for Cameroon to rise among emerging nations through shared vision and responsible leadership.

“Our collective destiny is not played out in fear, but in confidence. The world is watching. We have the chance to show that Cameroon can be a model of political maturity and republican patriotism.” he stressed

In his message, the PCRN leader extended a “sincere hand” to fellow candidates and political actors, appealing for a peaceful, respectful, and orderly transition that puts national interest above political rivalry.

“Alternance should not be seen as an affront, but as a dialogue between visions. Together, with respect, we can ensure a peaceful and exemplary transition.” he concluded

As the campaign season gains momentum, Cabral Libii’s call for calm and collaboration sets a tone of conciliatory leadership — one that seeks to navigate the country’s long-standing political inertia with a message of unity, reform, and hope.
