The Far North regional chapter of the Cameroon Journalists' Trade Union (CJTU) has re-elected Tabouli Célestin as its president for the 2025–2027 mandate. The decision came during the elective general assembly (EGA) held on Tuesday, 27 May 2025, at the ceremonial hall of the Maroua II Council.
Group picture after election The session, chaired by national executive bureau (BEN) representatives Jean Areguema and Dewa Aboubakar, brought together over thirty journalists, media workers and stakeholders in the region. The event was attended by notable guests, including Babadjo Hamidou Taïwé, Regional Delegate of Communication and Félix Taïwé, Regional Delegate for Labour and Social Security.
The outgoing executive presented a report on activities conducted during the 2023–2025 term, receiving commendation for its efforts despite operational challenges. In an atmosphere of trust and unity, the only list submitted, led by the incumbent president Tabouli Célestin, was unanimously endorsed by members present.
Following the election, BEN representatives officially installed the newly elected bureau, signalling the conclusion of the day’s proceedings. The assembly closed with a convivial gathering, allowing members to celebrate the renewal of their leadership in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
