National Inter-Pool 2019: Bertoua! Land of the Rising Sun upbeat as Inter-pools begin


Bertoua is staging the 2019 National Inter-pools from the 24 to 31 of August, 2019. The prestigious national tournament is being stabbed in a city that has a great passion for the beautiful game.


The Administrative authorities of the region in general and the city in particular have given their blessing with an impressive presence at the official opening. East Governor Gregoire Nvogo with all his administrative collaborators, the Government Delegate to the Bertoua City Council and his council collaborators cultural and fan clubs with joyful songs and sounds turned the official opening ceremony into a great feast.

Though brief, the presence of all including the population made the opening event impressive building optimism for a hitch free competition. 



"I am very happy to be here to witness the Inter-pools. I only heard that we had hosted the Inter-pools put I don't remember when. So I am very I am very happy I will be watching one myself." Kemchet Rolande a cloths dealer in Bertoua said. 



Hotels have been renovated, restaurants and bars stocked to welcome the many guests from across the country. The streets are beaming with banners and the synthetic stadium is continouly being maintained. 



"I have prepared well. I renovated some rooms and made sure those that did not have water or TV have. My hotel is just besides the stadium and many people called to book their rooms. I am happy for that. I also increased my purchase of drinks and food to make sure that I have enough to serve my expected customers." A small hotel and business owner who us her name only as Magarette said.

From administrative offices to streets and radio stations the conversation is about the national Inter-pools. Since the upliftment of Bertoua to a city council in 2008 by a Presidential degree, Bertoua has not known such a huge football assembly. The City dwellers are however hopeful that their representative Stade De Bertoua will make them proud.

“I am supporting Stade Bertoua not just because I am from Berotua, but because I think they play very good football. If they were not good they will not be at this level. You know we have not being at the elite league for long, this is the time to also make good use of this beautiful stadium we now have here.” Patrice Nkeye football enthusiast said.

The host region flag bearer Stade Bertoua has started the competition with a 1-1 draw which has not impressed the home crowd that turned out massively to give their team a push to victory.
The city is now sleeping longer than usual with clubs and fans celebrating results in beer palours.
