Though with a timid start in arrival, the
Bamenda Congress hall was full to capacity at about 2pm when the regional
governor arrived. His arrival received a standing ovation and thundering
applause before the official opening of the convention greeted by heavy rains.
Inside sources in the party have responded to
detractors indicating that, It is however not the first time a governor is attending
an SDF Convention neither is it the first time the party is holding a
convention in the Bamenda Congress hall a destination considered to be used
more or as property of the opposing CPDM party.
The governor was accompanied to the
convention by his administrators and security collaborators. The Friedrich
Helbert Foundation and other international guests could also be seen at the Convention.
Unlike the previous convention, the ruling Cameroon’s
People Democratic Movement CPDM didn’t answer present.
