Sanitation around Foncha Street a Call for Concern

Waste management for many years now has remained a course for concern in Bamenda. Recently the new city Council Boss Vicent Nji contracted a private firm for the cleaning of the city. Though the cleaning is done daily, observers have been quick to say a lot of  waste is still abandoned in neighborhoods around the city. Local Councillors we contacted on condition of anonymity say the plan for cabbage collection made public by the City Council has not been respected especially in Bamenda III one of the subdivisions under the City boss
Abandoned waste along Foncha Street
.  Moving along Bamenda's most popular street (Foncha Street) is fast becoming an unbearable experience. As has always been known, the street is famous for its fenced houses and homes. It is generally known around Bemenda and beyond that if rains meet you along Foncha street be sure to be sucked for as long as you walk. The experience was never as bad as it is now. This days flies and smell of abandoned home waste will accompany you as the rain pours on you. Local council authorities have limited the collection of waste to the major highway. The picture below is a dump site which has not been cleared for over two weeks now.
