Grassland FC of Nkwen begins Regional Division Two Campaign by beating PWD Bamenda at base.



Legendary PWD of Bamenda received baptism of fire this Saturday at home that is on the Bamenda Municipal Stadium as the NW regional division kicks off. P ton ton as they are locally called  suffered a 0-1 defeat from metamorphosed Nkwen Fc now Grassland FC at the opening of the Regional Championship in a game that many P fans expected to serve as the rallying game since they were already very sure of a victory. This assurance was further motivated by the fact that they were playing at home and literally owned the supporters. Though they gave their all it was insufficient to stop the determined grass cutters who had stared their finest for the opener. Due to repeated pressure on PWD a penalty occurred at the last quarter of the first half and was transformed into a goal giving the visitors the lead. The remaining four quarters of the game were marked by had tackles and counter attacks from both sides but however yielded no fruits as the goal line stood at 0-1 in favour of Grassland. As the team celebrated their victory information got to Bakahonline that Ndifor Lesley the team’s country President was involved in a ghastly motor accident on his way to Bamenda for the game. Though his car is reportedly beyond repairs he is said to have sustained to brushes which does not but his life at risk.
