LICHA extends lifeline to mobility-impaired orphan in Bamenda

Life Changing Humanitarian Services, ( LICHA) Cameroon has come to the aid of a 23-year-old orphan living with multiple disabilities in Mbelewa Nkwen, Bamenda. The young woman, who lost her father six years ago, developed a severe muscular dystrophy during her early secondary school years, leaving her with serious mobility challenges.

Until LICHA’s intervention, she had been sleeping on a hard wooden chair in their dilapidated home. The organisation recently provided her with a modern bed, mattress, pillows, blanket, and bedsheets to improve her living conditions. This comes in addition to an earlier donation of a wheelchair to support her movement within the home.

Despite these efforts, LICHA has highlighted the pressing need for further assistance, particularly the construction of a wheelchair ramp to make her home more accessible. The organisation is appealing to well-wishers and partners to support this initiative, aiming to restore dignity and improve the quality of life for the young woman.
