Reverend Sisters At #IWD event in Bamenda
The Bamenda Commercial avenue ceremonial ground witnessed an uncommon participation of Religious women in Women’s Day #IWA celebrations March 8, 2015. Reverend Sisters of the Roman Catholic Church in Bamenda as well as a nondenominational religious group received exceptional recognition as they marched passed before the administrators, traditional rulers and many others who showed up for the event. According to some of the Reverend Sisters who spoke to hilltopvoices they were participating with two issues in mind – they are first of all women before being Reverend Sisters and secondly they are observing the year of consecrated life thus participating in this year’s women’s Day activity is a means of sensitization.

Dressed in sky blue gowns, a group of women carrying Bibles stormed the grand. Their dressing was good enough to tell anyone who cared that this was not a social group. With their Bibles in hand it became clearer that they had a Christian background. Talking to hilltopvoices while marching on of the women said “we are a nondenominational group of women with the mission to carry to all parts of the world the good news message of Jesus Christ”
Both Groups received thunderous applause from the population as they marched on.
