The passage of political parties was a highly expected moment
on the Bamenda ceremonial ground during the Women’s Day celebration #IWD. The
reason is simply that Bamenda as the case may be will not joke with political
issues particularly the Social Democratic Front #SDF whose chairman was present
and the Cameroon’s People’s Democratic Movement #CPDM considered opposition in
the host municipality. Though many expected other political parties to
participate, only these two showed up.

Both parties with very discouraging numbers however received
some ovation as they march passed. Compared to other years, the small numbers
can either be justified by the fact that 2015 is not an electoral year in
Cameroon or that the funders of such projects were not around. Notwithstanding
their participation was not a bad idea as earlier during the celebration some
women from across the region received encouragement certificates from the
Governor on their political activities.
