Death is a natural end for all living! Whether my death would or would
not be regretted by majority Cameroonians is inconsequential but the
demise of he or she who has heavily stagnated, impoverished our society
cannot be a great loss!
This subject comes in the wake of controversies on Cameroonians’
commentaries on the life of former Douala V Mayor and business guru
Madame Franciose Foning. This late Mayor was CPDM. In fact she was more
or less President Biya’s mascot - President Biya has watched the sinking
/ stagnation to negative levels the welfare of this otherwise
opportunities-packed country. First President, Ahmadou Ahidjo handed to
him a zero indebted country. Biya regime has mismanaged Cameroon until
we are today disgracefully solaced by the “Heavily indebted poor county
HIPC” funds. We are today soaked in avoidable wars e.g. the current anti
Boko Haram crusade – if our leadership was cautious in deeds and words,
the situation would have been hugely minimized – Biya abandons the
North and her grass roots inhabitants as concerns development like in
other countryside and regions. His solo reckless rush for ulterior
motives to declare war on a hitherto Nigerian
situation has directly or indirectly provoked the war with its
consequent escalating human carnage and finance waste; the condition of
roads in the country generally and particularly farm to market ones has
worsened. Cameroon grass roots are the most affected. Today, many a
Cameroonian (skilled or unskilled) dream to emigrate to the Diaspora for
paying jobs. At present forward looking nations are embracing
democracies - Mr. Biya Cameroon’s President sues but for dictatorship
where he is sole administrator over Cameroon with his many blunders. The
President and his cohorts rush out of the country for medical checks
and other chores while Cameroon’s health facilities and other social
amenities-structures remain in neglects. When such a President who has
as heritage but many unfulfilled promises to Cameroonians in his
tortuous more than 30years stay in power dies; it cannot be a big loss
to the country! Why should a supposedly good leader leading a
multiparty country be a referee and player in “Elections games”? – Here
ELECAM, the country’s polls body is ridiculously created by the
topnotch of the Presidents’ party (the ruling CPDM) with target of
increasing the over half a century of tragic ruler-ship of the CPDM
(formerly CNU). A President who refuses to declare his assets, in order
to block corruption and embezzlement, according to article 66 of the
country’s constitution and prevents his ministers from so doing has not
Cameroonians in mind as he rules. Those who support the activities
direct or indirectly of a notorious bandit can never be friends of that
community where the thief strives. Arresting such a misfit or his
downfall can never be a thing of even scant regret! Blunders of a
maximum leader and his supporters will never become good legacy upon
their demise.
