CATTU SG declares “war” against School Proprietors over Teachers’ salaries

The Executive Secretary General of the Cameroon Teachers Trade Union CATTU has made public the intention of his institution to compel all proprietors of confessional and private schools in the North West and South West regions to pay their teacher’s salaries particularly for the last one year during which schools were interrupted due to the socio-economic and political crisis facing the region. Sema Valentine was speaking on Tuesday during a radio programme on Abakwa FM Radio station in Bamenda while evaluating Cameroon’s educational sector in 2017. The recently appointed Chaplain of State and Private Universities and Institutions of Higher learning has been commissioned into office. Rev Fr Martin Forgwe was commissioned on Sunday during a Sunday Mass at the St Augustine Catholic Church in Mbelem Nkwen by the Chancellor of the Bamenda Archdiocese Rev Fr Bonaventure Ndong representing the Archbishop. Elhaji Jaji Manu Secretary General MINEPIA A project intended to boost the livestock sector has been launched in Bamenda. The Government of Cameroon through the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries MINEPIA launched the livestock development project LDP Tuesday with the intention to invest and modernize and make livestock profitable to those in the sector. Bamenda Hospital Director hail Biya’s Universal Health Coverage plan

The Director of the Bamenda Regional Hospital has described the announcement by the President of the Republic Paul Biya during his end of year message last December 31 of a Universal health coverage for Cameroonians as one of the good things contained in his speech. NW Security officials commit self to ensure return to normalcy

The North West regional administrative coordination and security meetings have ended in Nkambe headquarter of Donga Mantung Division. The Mayor of the Nkambe Council in Donga Mantung Division of the North West Region has castigated ghost towns and school boycotts as unbeneficial and self-punishment strategies as ways to draw government’s attention to the plight of Anglophones in Cameroon. Mayor Ngabir Paul was talking to The Guardian Post recently in his Nkambe residence during which he maintained that that there is an Anglophone problem but there is disagreement on how the solution is being sorted.  “First of all I agree that there are Anglophone issues but how we should go about resolving them is the main thing.
