Tubah SDF Councilors Fault Regional Chairman For Fomenting Trouble In Party

The cold war ongoing between the hierarchies of Cameroon’s most populous opposition political party the Social Democratic Front has taken another twist with accusations from the Party and counters from the “illegal” councilors of the Tubah Council.   Continuing from a standoff that ensued from the 2013 municipal elections, the SDF hierarchy still believes that Mayor Tanjong Martin M and his councilors defied party instructions to seize office. Meeting in Bamenda Saturday August 30, 2014, the National Executive Committee NEC of the SDF ordered the re organization of the Tubah Electoral District as spelled out in article 18.8 of the party. Hitherto the decision, Mayor Tanjong who before his election as Mayor was district chairman was still in the function. For disrespecting party’s investiture decision on who becomes Mayor, many expected that the SDF was going to issue its famous article 8.2 on Mayor Tanjong for non-respect of party decision. This however did not happen and

2015 Nations Cup Qualify. Cameroon defies public opinion.

Nigeria has lost a competitive home game for the first time in 33 years as they began their African Nations Cup title defence in disappointing fashion with a 3-2 qualifying defeat by Congo in Calabar on Saturday. Algeria, Africa's top-ranked team, beat Ethiopia 2-1 to start the decisive competition for Morocco 2015 with three points. Cameroon won 2-0 in Congo in its first game since its disastrous World Cup in Brazil. El Arabi Soudani and Yacine Brahimi put Algeria ahead in Addis Ababa after absorbing early pressure. Saladin Said, who had gone close twice in the first half before Algeria went ahead, could only score a consolation for the Ethiopians with a penalty in the fifth minute of injury time. Cameroon began life without retired striker Samuel Eto'o by rebounding from its three losses at the World Cup with an impressive win in Congo after Clinton N'jie gave the visiting team the lead in first-half injury time and Vincent Aboubakar added a second late on.

Bamenda III Mayor Sets own agenda for Students and youths on Holidays.

Mayor Fongu Cletus Tanwie of Bda III Council Since the creation of the Bamenda III sub-divisional Council never has students and youths been so at the center of council activities like in 2014. This 2014 goes into history in the Bamenda III municipality as the year the council allocated over 1.5million for the entertainment and occupation of youths and students. This allocation mayor Fongu Cletus T. told hilltopvoices was an opportunity for these young people to continue developing their talents in football and athletics. For the many who participated it was a “ great experience” and for others “ meeting friends and love ones during the holidays was fulfilling”.   The young Mayor who has started his own tenure after completing that of pioneer Mayor (late Prince Amandou Pius Ngwa) was wrongly or rightly described by many as wearing oversized shoes. Surely the shoe could be oversized but for indigent people like him, all you need do is change the shoe and get the one that

Thousands join HM Fon Azehfor III in pioneer Sport Competition Finals.

"The Spirit of Unity Reigns in Nkwen Through Sports" This message may be small but certainly should be the best explanation as to why over three thousand people assembled in Niboung Nkwen this Sunday August 31, 2014. The event was the pioneer football Finals of the Fon Azehfor Multi-disciplinary and Development Sport Competition. The event might have been taking place but the change in name and sponsor makes it entirely new. As if the villagers understood this, the turnout was mammoth. Many showed up as early as 2:30pm occupying every available space humanly possible. At about 4pm The Paramount Fon of Nkwen stepped in accompanied by his notables of rank and file. Paying attention to every security detail, the Palace protocols lead the Fon to the Tribune. Before occupying his throne he was handed a bouquet of flowers on half of the youths with words of welcome. In quick succession, the National anthem is sung; the Fon greet the contesting teams and then greets the s

"Above 50 Competitive Walk" a novelty in Nkwen.

Never has there in the history of holiday sporting activities in Nkwen been an activity for people above 50. It has traditionally been a moment for youths on holidays to celebrate their youthfulness in football, racing, dancing and some times handball. This Saturday August 30, 2014 this reporter like many others went to the Nkwen Fon's palace to behold what was announced as a Champion Male Category At take off Athletes receive instructions from Mumah Azehfor  novelty  "a Competitive Walk" the French will call it "marche commando" for men and women above 50years of age. No one would have expected the excitement around the palace just before take-off. In fact some of the above 50 athletes came thinking it was a marathon and so when they were reminded it was a walk the anxiety increased as they all flexed their muscles for the showdown. Allow me not to talk about their outfits but imagine wha
