CJTU NW 2024 Press Awards to Honor Excellence, Remember Fallen Colleagues

The Cameroon Journalists' Trade Union (CJTU) Northwest Chapter has announced the commencement of the 2024 Press Awards, dedicated to celebrating the outstanding work of journalists in the North West Region. This year's awards carry special significance as they also pay homage to six departed colleagues: Peterkins Manyong, Eric Motumo, Michel Ndi, Anye Nde Soh, Rebecca Njeme, and Fawa Agatha. CJTU West Launches World Press Freedom Day Activities in Dschang

The West regional chapter of Cameroon Journalists' Trade Union (CJTU) on Thursday 11 April 2024 embarked on a significant visit to Dschang. They own, and with pride, use Lamnso (language of Nso) anywhere they are found. They are from the grassfields of Cameroon, with capital being Kimbo (or today known as Kumbo), the Nso People have a rare structured traditional administrative setup, with the Fon at the summit; then there are the Vibai, aShufai, aYaa, aFai, aShey, etc. Yeeh Ngwerong The very religious people give uncommon value to their traditional beliefs, yet are so attached to Christianity and Islam, the two main religions apart from the traditional practices. By Bakah Derick Many amongst them Northwest Governor Adolf Lele L'Afrique Tuesday September 1, 2015 watched with dismay an unfortunate development in the Mezam divisional delegation of state property and lands tenure. It was a giant snake found in the cupboard of the delegation. SDF Chairman John Fru Ndi in another Protest

According to the Chairman, he was protesting in Matazem following the bad state of the road between Bafoussam and Bamenda that blocked traffic flow for almost a day. After visiting the bad area between Babajou and Mbouda, the SDF Chairman returned to the Matezem toll gate to order all toll gate ticket sellers out of the place and to stop selling tickets until the road is repaired and before he arrived the toll gate was locked. Nkwen: Fon makes groundbreaking declarations on land sells, funerals others in New Year Message

By Bakah Derick The paramount Fon of Nkwen has delivered his new year message to Nkwen sons and daughters with a firm call for the respect of culture and diligence on matters of land sells, funerals amongst others. HRM Fon Azehfor III was speaking on Tuesday 4 January 2022 in a rare outing at the start of the new year since his ascension to the throne. Breaking News: Nkwen Youths stage protest against the "Bansonisation" of their village

The protesting youths say they are against “the Bansonisation” (excessive presence of Nso people in Nkwen.) of Nkwen land. According to the youths, this is happening with the complicity of the Paramount Fon of Nkwen HM Fon Azehfor III who is still to clock two in office and provocation from Nso Nkwen settlers who are promising to buy the entire Nkwen Fondom including the palace.
