Bamenda III Water Scheme: Nkwen Fon Confers 'Akamanche' title on visiting engineers

By Bakah Derick  The Paramount Fon of Nkwen has confered new traditional titles on the two German water engineers currently in the Bamenda III municipality in recognition for their selfless service to his people. Ear Surgery: CBC Health Services acquires, dedicates equipment for use

By Bakah Derick  The Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services (CBCHS) has acquired a new equipment for ear surgery and cochlear implantation. 2023 NW Budget Launch: Fuel Price increase imminent in February, roads prioritised

Bamenda III Water Scheme: Pre-filter, pumping stations installed, tested after three days of optimisation

By Bakah Derick  German experts currently on mission to optimise the the Bamenda III Council Water scheme say they are going faster that planned. This follows three days of continous work since their arrival for the optimisation mission on January 10, 2022.  New pre-filtration improvement installation  On day one of work, they experts say their mission was to install and test the new pre-filter and prepare the controls for the pumping stations. Bamenda III Water Scheme: German experts on optimisation mission received with special snacks, music, dance.

By Bakah Derick  The Bamenda III municipality has treated their water experts from Germany to another hilarious welcome. The experts, Karli Heinisch and Gerd Muller arrived the council area on Tuesday January 10, 2023 and were received by an enthusiastic crowd with dance and music at the Ntaghem quarter hosting the Mayor.  The special delicacy served the German visitors  The Bayelle Mbaglum led by men in beautifully made toghu and masquerades gave the municipal guests a special welcome.  "Bamenda III Council has a partnership with Trier City in Germany and in the partnership, Trier city had accepted to donate a water purification plant to Bamenda III. This was effectively done in 2015 and the population of Bamenda III is already enjoying good water though not every part but every year we make an effort to extend supply to other parts so more people can benefit from the water." Nukwi Ne Abubte: Nkwen gives 'King Solomon' a deserving life celebration, solidifies diplomatic relations with Mankon

By Bakah Derick  The people of Nkwen under the leadership of their Paramount Fon have joined Mankon in celebrating the life of their immediate past Fon. HRM Fon Azehfor III led a delegation of over 300 men to the Ntaw Mankon (Mankon Palace) on Sunday 8 January 2023 to participate in the Nukwi Ne Abubte of Fo S.A.N Angwafo III fondly known as the King Solomon of Cameroon. All dressed in beautiful traditional attires with majority in the legendary toghu, the men assembled at the Nto'o Menkwene (Nkwen Palace) esplanade as early as 9am to wait for their traditional ruler to join and lead them.  HRM Fon Azehfor and Fo Angwafo IV dacing the Mbaglum dance  Upon joining his people ready for a journey, the Fon called on the ancestors to protect them as they go out and bring them back safely. The new leaders emerged from the 2022 Elective General Assembly (EGA) held at the association's head office in Nkwen Bamenda on Friday 6 January 2022. The elections which started with the board of directors produced a new board President and vice as well as the supervisory board.  Enter NWCA Elections  As defined by the organic text of the cooperative unions, getting to the level of NWCA for elections require a rigorous process. Elections have to be organised from the cooperative societies to the area unions and then the apex organization. World Braille Day 2023: CSO leaders react to CHRC statement, make more demands

By Bakah Derick  Leaders of Civil Society Organizations have reacted favourably to the statement by the Cameroon Human Rights Commission (CHRC) ahead of the 2023 World Braille Day. World Braille Day: National Rights Commission urges government to equip schools, train teachers, ensure access to information for visually impaired.

By Bakah Derick  The Cameroon Human Rights Commission (CHRC) has recommended the provision of "teaching materials (Braille tablets, punches, Braille paper, etc.) to support the visually impaired." The Recommendation is contained in a statement issued by the national rights commission to mark the 2023 edition of World Braille Day.  World Braille Day   The Commission recommends that the Ministries of Basic Education, Secondary Education and Higher Education should equip schools and universities with Braille transcription equipment and train teachers to master Braille.The Commission strongly recommends that the Ministry of Decentralization and Local Development, and all the local authorities, should ensure that disability is taken into account at the local level by providing access to information at the level of the Regions and Municipalities."
