CAMCCUL holds AGM in own building for the first time in 47years

By Bakah Derick Blogger@hilltopvoices The 47th Ordinary General Meeting of the Cameroon Cooperative Credit Union League CAMCCUL held in Bamenda Saturday 27th June, 2015 in the Commercial Avenue complex of the Network.    CAMCCUL guest poss for family picture  It is the first time since creation in 1968 that the leading Credit Union Network in Central Africa held its Annual General Meeting in a non rented structure.  During the meeting, the Governor of the North West Region like the Government Delegate to the Bamenda City Council both represented, appreciated CAMCCUL for not only choosing Bamenda as headquarters but also for "erecting a magnificent edifice" on the commercial avenue of the Regional Capital. Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation, CTO launches activities for the Central Africa Regional Office in Bamenda.

By Bakah Derick Blogger@hilltopvoices CTO-CARO activities launching Bamenda  The University of Bamenda Uba, Monday June 29, 2015 hosted the ceremony to launch activities for the CTO Central Africa Regional Office (CTO-CARO). The launching Chaired by the General Manager of Cameroon’s Telecommunications Regulatory Board TRB, Jean Marie Mbengue had in attendance local administrative authorities amongst them Northwest Governor Adolph Lele L’afrique, The Vice Chancelor of Uba Tafack Edokat, The Mayor of Tubah Tanjong Martin and traditional authorities. CTO-CARO activities launching Bamenda  In separate presentations by the Governor and the Vice Chancellor, there was an identical call for CTO to aid Cameroon’s Baby University of Bamenda in the development of its information Communication Technology ICT competence. Created in 1901, CTO uses ICTs for development with the mission to promote, facilitate and guide members to deliver effective development interventions.

This is not a common achievement these days; the richest and the most educated die these days before their 60 th or 70 th birthday. While many think that 117 was her age, we see more than that. However this is not a subject for a debate but we think that just her long lifespan which almost tripled the estimated lifespan is considered by hilltopvoices as a reward for her goodwill. Christian Mofor (58) has been laid to rest. He was lowered to his final resting place at exactly 12noon Tuesday June 23, 2015 besides the Church building of the Bamenda St Joseph Metropolitan Cathedral Mankon. By Bakah Derick Blogger@hilltopvoices   Fr Christian Mofor just a meters away from the Mortuary  The dead of this well-known Priest of the Archdiocese of Bamenda has been at the center of conversations within and without Roman Catholic Church circles in Bamenda. This teacher, scholar, administrator and above all Priest of the Roman Catholic Church died on the 11 th of June, 2015 after a protracted illness at the St Elizabeth Catholic hospital Shisong. He worked as a Priest, Teacher and administrator in many areas. Cameroon Baptist Convention Dedicates new Building and Cars for Health Services

By Bakah Derick Blogger@hilltopvoices CBC Health Services New Building  In the heart of the Cameroon Baptist Convention, CBC Head Quarters in Nkwen now stands an imposing cream white building expected to host some projects and services of the Health Board. Meeting in Bamenda Monday June 8, 2015, the executive board decided to dedicate the new building and service cars. Rev Dr Ndongde Godlove coordinating dedication prayers  As to why the dedication, the Director of CBC Health Service Prof Tih Pius Muffih explained that the dedication was a show of thanks giving to God who has provided the resources for the realization of the projects. “We are also asking for his blessings on the occupants on those who are getting inside to the public that they will be very acceptable.” He added. Bamenda III-Tubah Councils Stand-off Over Boundary Paralyses Market Day

By Bakah Derick Blogger@hilltopvoices Buyers and sellers who showed up this Friday June 12, 2015 for the regular weekly animal market along the Bamenda-Bambui highway had to do business along the road instead of the market where regular business is done. The reason for the relocation was the blocking of the main entrance into the market by Councilors of the Bamenda III Sub-divisional Council. Quizzed on why the blocking, Councilor Lucas Ngu Afong councilor from Mbessi Quarter in Nkwen explained that they blocked the market in a bid to arm twist the administration of Mezam to give a verdict over the ownership and occupation of the land hosting the market. According to Councilor Afong corroborated by George Moforzah and others the animal market which is controlled by the Tubah Council is within Bamenda III Subdivision and consequently it should be property of the Bamenda III council and not Tubah. The protest which started as early as 5:30am calmed down at about 8a
