SDF 2018 Convention: Venue Known; State and party security to take charge

It is emerging that the Social Democratic Front SDF is still in search of a venue that begins February 22 in Bamenda.
SDF 2018 Convention

Initially planned for the multipurpose hall of the St Joseph Metropolitan Cathedral Big Mankon, the convention was moved to the multipurpose hall of Presbyterian Church Ntamulung for reasons of size. Party sources maintained that the convention will take place in the Ntamulung hall until Tuesday 20 when information started circulating on Social Media that the management committee of the hall had backpedaled on their early decision to allow the SDF use the hall.
Though no major reasons is being given for the change, inside sources close to the committee say it is for security reasons. The fear of the church our source adds on the repeated treats on the party and particularly the party chairperson John Fru Ndi from separatists who now consider him an enemy for continuously participating in Cameroon activities. Their disagreement with the organization of the SDF Convention has been published via messages in audio and text formats and distributed on Social Media. According to the Wednesday Edition of the Lone English daily The Guardian Post, John Fru Ndi reacted swiftly to the threats from Ambazonia activists that they will disrupt the convention stating that “no amount of intimidation will stop the party from going ahead with the gathering that runs from February 22-24.
At the time of this report, a press briefing was suppose to be going on according to sources close to the party information Officer Beatrice Animbom Munjo. With no independent confirmation of what the briefing was going to address, it is speculated that the new venue for the convention will be announced.
There are internal plans to have state and party security work together to ensure a hitch free convention.
Hilltop Voices now has it on good authority that the venue will be the Bamenda Congress.
